Knoxville Community Apothecary

Mission

The Knoxville Community Apothecary is an herbal mutual aid project based in Knoxville, TN and was formed through a partnership between FACK (First Aid Collective Knoxville) and Reclaiming Your Roots .  We practice community-based herbalism that is rooted in mutual aid and mutual respect alongside the most marginalized members of our community. We believe healthcare is a basic human right. We believe in building resilient communities of care where no one is left behind.

Vision

Knoxville Community Apothecary seeks to create a network of street medics, herbalists, kitchen witches, and individual activists capable of using our relationships with plants and the natural world to meet the needs of those most marginalized members of our community around issues of health, wellness, and resiliency.

Project

Formed in response to COVID-19 and the increasing need for access to herbal medicine and care in our community, one of the first projects we plan to take on is the creation of Herbal Care Kits that can provide immune, respiratory, nervous system, and wound care support free of charge to community members  in need

Our collective of herbalists and medicine makers are donating our time, energy, and resources to this project and are asking our community to support our efforts by financially supporting the purchasing of additional materials for kits. If you’d like to support our work, please donate to our GoFundMe . 100 % of all proceeds will directly go towards the purchase of supplies including bottles, caps, tins, herb material, vinegar, honey, beeswax, oil, etc.

We hope for these kits to only be the beginning and to continue to grow this apothecary into a sustainable resource for the greater Knoxville community.
